Afghanistan

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is a landlocked country in Asia, sharing its borders with Pakistan,Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan,Tajikistan and China. It is considered as the 'crossroads of Asia'. The region is predominantly mountainous dominated by the Hindu Kush range which is western extension of the Himalayas. Afganistan is famous for its fresh and dry fruits & nuts, world's best Saffron, pomegranates(kandhari anaar), grapes, apricots, melons, world's largest producer of opium and cannabis. The region is known for its rich mineral deposits including coal, copper, iron ore, lithium, uranium, rare earth elements, chromite, gold, zinc, talc, barite, sulfur, lead, marble, precious and semi-precious stones, natural gas and petroleum. It is famous for lapis lazuli stones used for pottery colours. Carpet weaving, Pottery and Agriculture have been traditional occupations while major Construction projects are current economy boosters.
